What are the changes?
Drivers will receive a $25 lifting fee for any passenger who uses a SATSS voucher or card to receive a 50%, 75% or 100% fare subsidy where the trip is booked through the Access Centralised Booking Service (CBS). The lifting fee tariffs will be displayed on the meter as:
This replaces the existing lifting fee and driver on-time bonus payments for operators to streamline the fees paid by the State Government for provision of this essential service. What are the benefits? The increased lifting fee payable on a broader category of trips seeks to improve service delivery through reduced wait times and improved services for Access Taxi customers. How does it work for drivers? 50% member trips where a voucher is being used will now be treated in the same way as 75% trips. The effect of this will be to ensure the meter is paused and Tariff 5 or 6 applied. What's next? From early 2022, the $25 lifting fee will be expanded to all trips taken by SATSS members regardless of whether SATSS funds their trip.
