Taxi driver allegedly assaulted on Clanfield Street, Berserker

A taxi driver was allegedly assaulted in North Rockhampton on Monday night, with the alleged attacker reportedly making off with a sum of money.

According to a Queensland Police Service spokeswoman, the taxi driver was allegedly assaulted on Clanfield Street, Berserker, just after 11pm.

The spokeswoman said the taxi driver may have allegedly been “hit with something”, and that cash may have allegedly been stolen from cab.

It is unknown how much money was allegedly stolen from the cab or whether the taxi driver suffered any injuries.

Queensland Ambulance Service did not attend the incident.

Investigations are ongoing.
