Taxi Protest | Thursday 20 October

Let’s show the NSW Government that we are a united front and we are not going away.

On behalf of all NSW Taxi Industry Associations, we invite you to join us as a United Taxi Industry for a Peaceful Protest against the inadequacies of the Proposed Package.

Location: In front of NSW Parliament House & Martin Place
Date: Thursday, 20 October 2022
Time: 11am to 1pm (2 hours)

​This is a sitting day, so all politicians will be in Parliament.

You can join us in one of the following ways:

1. On foot (bystander) – To stand outside Parliament House. We will meet outside the Reserve Bank Building in Martin Place at 10:45am OR
2. In a Taxi Convoy – Drive your Taxi around Parliament House for the duration of the protest (details of meeting location for the Taxi Convoy will be provided prior to the event). ​

What to bring
You are welcome to make up some signs highlighting your disappointment with the proposed package.
Please note: no banners, flags or placards containing offensive language or obscene slogans or pictures are to be present at the event (as per NSW Police directive).

Politicians attending
There will be politicians who will be joining us and speaking during the protest in support of our cause.

Getting there
Martin Place train station or St James train station are the closest to NSW Parliament.
There is parking in the Domain. 

Weather
We will be proceeding rain, hail or shine. If raining, please bring appropriate wet weather gear.

Registration
Registration of your attendance prior to the protest is essential. You need to register for each person attending via the link below and also advise us if you will be participating via foot (bystander) or in a Taxi. Click here to register for the protest.

This is your industry, your assets that have been taken away. It is important that you attend to let the NSW Government know how you feel and the real impact their decisions have made on you and your family.
