Originally, WCA was known as the Special Vehicle Hire Association. As times changed, the association became the Wedding Car Association of Victoria with its distinctive identifiable logo. The logo is used on members’ websites and stickers on their vehicles.
All WCA members abide by a Code of Ethics which covers Government licensing of both vehicles and drivers, and insurances. This accords the public with a level of confidence that the quality of vehicles and service will be provided by professional and reliable operators — not hobbyists of classic and modern cars who offer a second-rate unlicensed illegal service. One of WCA’s objectives is that if a member is unable to fulfill a wedding or commitment, they know they can call on or recommend another member to help. WCA has a great website where all members’ vehicles are listed in various categories. Our cars range from Vintage to Modern to Stretch. Last year through COVID-19, the WCA committee worked hard to keep the members together as much as possible through Zoom meetings and emails. This year WCA celebrated its 40th year anniversary with a dinner, with past presidents and members in attendance. WCA meets bimonthly to discuss and share current issues that may arise and to discuss ways of furthering members’ individual businesses. Members are represented at all Government forums through WCA, Transport Alliance Australia and Rod Barton MP. We have many concerns and queries which we have asked of the current regulator and we shall keep you updated as these progress. More news in our May 2021 Edition here.
